The Bumbershoot
The purpose of children's ministry at TPC is to give specific thought and attention to the way children grow in their understanding of Christ's Kingdom and what membership in that Kingdom entails.

  A THOUGHT FROM YESTERDAY'S SERMON: Luke 9:18-27

We often hear Christian teachers tell us that we should be telling others about who God is with our words and our lives. As children, that can be a big and confusing instruction. This passage in Luke helps us understand it. Jesus tells the disciples they are correct when they say he is the promised Savior. Then he goes on to tell them what that means. You can continue to live life the way you want it -- seeking your own desires, living to please yourself -- or you can trade that selfish life for Jesus' life -- a life of seeking God's Kingdom and unselfish ways of living. The life lived to please self will last a little while but will eventually die. But the one who is willing to trade their own desires to live Jesus' life will get to come through death and live forever with Him just as He did.  So what does it mean to show and tell others about God? It means living the way Jesus did, putting others before yourself.

CHILDREN'S QUESTIONS:

Q: Why did Jesus have to die?

A. The cost of sin is death. Either Jesus pays it or we will have to.

Children's Questions or prayer requests can be placed in the box on the Children's Table outside the sanctuary.
