  A THOUGHT FROM YESTERDAY'S SERMON

The man in the story we heard from Luke 8:26-39 was posessed by demons. That can sound very scary to us. And it should. Demons are scary because they belong to the darkness that is opposed to God. But the good news is, Jesus showed in this true story that He is stronger even than many demons! So, even though all that belongs to the darkness is scary, when Jesus is in control of our lives, we have no reason to fear. With just a word from Jesus, the demons ran away from the man and he was made fully human again. There are a lot of things in our world that belong to the darkness like the demons do: anger, selfishness, disobedience, dishonoring parents, lying, laziness... all of these things can destroy us just as much as a demon can. When we belong to Jesus, he gives us His own power over all these things. Are you giving the dark things in your heart to Jesus and letting him teach you how to reflect his light?

CHILDREN'S QUESTIONS:

1. Why was the man in the story naked?

When the powers of darkness rule, people become less and less human and more and more like animals.

Children's Questions or prayer requests can be placed in the box on the Children's Table outside the sanctuary.
