Registration for Drama Camp 2018 will open Monday, April 9.
Campers are rising 1st graders through rising 6th graders who are interested in any aspect of theatre. Children can coose to act, design costumes or help create sets and props. Whichever area a camper chooses is what he/she will learn during the class periods all week.
Campers will learn theatre vocabulary (blocking, downstage, wings, etc.) how to take direction, importance of projection, how to work as part of a crew and more.
Campers in set design will first learn the story so that they can establish time period and setting. Then the will draw and paint the backdrops, create props and all necessary materials for setting the stage to produce the drama.
Campers will study the story, time period and customs of the time in order to become farmiliar with fabrics and colors to the the play realistic. Campers will spend time watching the actors rehearse to know how they will need to move in their costumes. And then they get to put this study to pratice as they create costumes for each actor in the play.
